Fox Sports Is A Collection Of Highly Successful Regional Sports Channels.

Fox Sports is a collection of highly successful regional sports channels as well as national channel that are part and parcel of the Fox Broadcasting Company. Currently, Fox Sports owns the right to Major League Baseball games, NASCAR Races, as well as the games of the National Football League. Fox Sports keeps a close eye on its performance statistics, and it is no wonder that the channel is celebrating the fact that their October 8th NFL game between the Eagles and Cowboys received the Nielsen Media Research Group’s notation as having been the highest rated NFL game. Granted, the return of Terrell Owens is to thank for this feat, but Fox Sports realizes that it is the choice of most viewers who are in the market for a game.

Yet did you know that there is more to Fox Sports than immediately meets the eye? For example, there is the Fox Sports Israel channel which focuses heavily on many of the same items as the main channel, but it also spends a lot of time covering cricket, which is a highly popular game for many different nations, even though in the United States is rarely gets noticed. In addition to this, there is the Fox Sports en Español channel which broadcasts in Spanish, as is Fox Sports en Latinoamérica.

Of course, there are also some other cable channels that are closely related to Fox Sports, even though they may carry a different name. Take for example the SPEED Channel. On this channel the company broadcasts the NASCAR races, but also popular shows that have garnered quite a bit of a loyal follower-ship, such as “Pinks,” “Dream Car Garage,” and “Car Crazy.” The mind behind this highly successful venture is Rupert Murdoch, the oftentimes controversial, sometimes flamboyant owner of News Corporation.
